I was the last drummer to play with Sweet Justice. The group disbanded in approx. 1983. I don't believe the group ever reformed again. Some drumming greats have came out of the group. The list inlcudes John J.R. Robinson, Steve Smith, Vinnie Caliota, Tim Smith and of course myself :). Sweet Justice was great environment for the drum seat. One had to play extremely versatile while developing ones own style and sound. The bass player Tommy Piscinoi was as solid as a rock with the old school bounce of Motown and soul. Chuck Giambusso always recognized a drummers true unique talent and brought it to the forefront of the band and helped many drummers develope their skill level whether they wish to acknowledge it or not. Drummers had to play extremely musical/melodically in Sweet Justice and it paid off for the drummers who recognized the task at hand. It was a Great playing situation that left me with many positive memories. It's very hard to find a ture BAND environment in todays local music scene where the music came first and foremost. Sure we had our share of politics and bull like any other band but bottom line the pros most definitely out weighed the con and I am a better musician today because of being in the band. A Great rhythm section with a great horn section with no dead weight in the band. Many thanks to Chuck and Tommy for letting me be myself and helping me grow without saying a negative word.
