Joe Cacciatore was one interesting dude. He was probably 50+ years old and was about 6'3" tall and 175 lbs. Very tall, very skinny, and very Italian. I don't think I ever saw him when he wasn't wearing a suit, and they were all nice - with a black shirt and light colored tie. Very much looking like what we perceived the Mafiosa look to be. The Godfather movie was released to the movie public a couple of months before we arrived a JoJo's, so this was very much on everyone's mind.

Another feature that was quite evident was in the middle of Joe's face - his nose. He was so tall and thin that his big nose was quite prevalent. We used to call him (not to his face) "the Beak". And, of course, another name we had for Joe along the same lines as the Beak, was "Chicken Cacciatore". Joe talked pretty tough, but I never knew him to get angry or show any ill toward anybody.
